Ronda Rousey Laugh at Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto PPV flop

Floyd Mayweather Jr, Berto, Pacquiao, Ronda Rousey

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto was a huge Pay-per-view flop. Showtime cable network said that the Floyd Mayweather’s last fight against Andre Berto, has churn out not more than 400,000. This placed Floyd's last fight at the same numbers as Manny Pacquiao versus Chris Algieri, which Floyd mocked Pacquiao. Floyd needs Pacquiao to get big numbers like the 4.4million for their last fight aht gave the fighters $260m for Mayweather and $120m for Pacquiao in their so-called Fight of the Century.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey mocked Floyd for the poor PPV numbers, saying that fans were already disappointed with Mayweather's May 2 fight against Pacquiao and that boxing fans were not that dumb to watch a one-sided fight.

Rousey told TMZ, "I'm not surprised, a lot of people were pissed after that Pacquiao fight. Fans aren't dumb." Watch the TMZ video clip here.

Rousey and Mayweather have been going at each other recently with Floyd saying that Rousey and the UFC are simply looking for publicity. Rousey will have a fight this coming November against challenger Holly Holm in Australia for UFC 193.

Mayweather Defeated Berto for his retirement fight.

Mayweather, Berto, Pacquaio, Boxing

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has done what he is suppose and designed to do win against a dummy fighter which in this case Andre Berto to retire unbeaten. The fight was a welterweight championship bout between boxers Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) and Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs).

Mayweather 38, has recently won a boring fight against Manny Pacquaio which disappointed many boxing fans. Mayweather insisted that the Berton fight will be his last fight of his storied career. With the win against Berto he tied Rocky Marciano’s record of 49-0. Rocky Marciano was the last American champion to retire undefeated.

Floyd outboxed and outpointed his Berto in the 12 rounds fight to hold on his WBC and WBA welterweight titles. Berto which is a 30-1 underdog against one of the best defensive fighters of all time, dropped to 30-4 as he suffered his 4th loss in his last seven fights.

Other modern boxers who retired undefeated are Joe Calzaghe 46-0, Sven Otke, 34-0 Edwin Valero 27-0, Ricardo Lopez 51-0-1.

Julio Cesar Chavez was 89-0-1 before losing — From 1943-1951 Sugar Ray Robinson won 91 fights in a row.

In the undercard of the fight Jonathan Oquendo upset Jhonny Gonzalez. This was to be a tune up fight for titleholder Jhonny Gonzalez but Jonathan Oquendo of Puerto Rico has another thing in mind as he scored an upset by winning a majority decision  of 94-94, 95-93, and 98-90.

Gonzalez (58-10, 49 KO) dropped Oquendo (26-4, 16 KO) in the first round and the fight looked as Gonzalez would have an easy time through out even if Oquendo give him a fight. But Oquendo stormed back in round two, dropping Gonzalez hard and evening the score. Gonzalez survived that round, and seemed to come on strong down the stretch in the fight, which featured several accidental head clashes and blood from the faces of both men.

Adrien Broner beats Paulie Malignaggi

Adrien Broner,Paulie Malignaggi,Boxing

Adrien Broner continued with his trash talk until the end, Broner made it clear that he wasn't injured by Malignaggi, and then further insulted Paulie:

"I'm good," Broner said. "I lifted his belt and his girl."

That dig was a play on a pre-fight stunt Broner pulled in which he said he stole Malignaggi's girlfriend.

That infuriated Malignaggi, who repeatedly screamed "Don't talk about stealing my side piece … that's my side piece [reportedly referring to a woman Malignaggi dated]" and tried to jump in Broner's face before being yanked away.

Malignaggi was angered by the split-decision loss.

"I'm not saying it was fixed, but it's always the most connected fighters who get the decisions," Malignaggi said.

Broner was too fast, too strong and far too accurate with his punches in his welterweight debut for Malignaggi to contend with in front of a crowd of 11,461 at the Barclays Center in Malignaggi's home borough of Brooklyn. Only Malignaggi's legendary heart kept him in the fight. But he had to listen to Broner keep up the trash talk as the fight went on. During the fight, he repeatedly told Malignaggi, "You can't hit me."

Broner captured the WBA welterweight title from Malignaggi. Judge Tom Miller scored it 115-113 for Malignaggi, but he was overruled by Tom Schreck (117-111) and Glenn Feldman (115-113), who had it for Broner.

Broner, only 23, moved up from lightweight to capture the welterweight belt. Malignaggi said he would retire if he didn't get an immediate rematch.

"I thought I out threw him, outworked him," Malignaggi said. "When it came down to it, it was about work ethic. He's a good intelligent fighter, but my pace carried the victory. I'm the defending champion. I don't think he did enough to win."

With his idol, Floyd Mayweather Jr., seated at ringside, Broner put on a show for the crowd that included a bevy of celebrities. While he showed some flaws, Broner was good enough to win going away from a guy who had trained very hard and was determined to win in his hometown.

The only thing Broner didn't get was the knockout, but that wasn't too bad for a guy who had jumped up two weight classes.

Broner landed 32 more punches, 246-214, while throwing fewer, according to CompuBox statistics.

Malignaggi V Broner

Malignaggi V Broner

Unbeaten junior middleweight prospect Julian Williams is the latest in the line of Philadelphia fighters to make an impact in the boxing world beyond the City of Brotherly Love. Also on the SHOWTIME EXTREME telecast will be a six-round light heavyweight clash between 2012 United States Olympian Marcus Browne of Staten Island and Mexico's Ricardo Campillo. Both bouts will lead up to the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® tripleheader headlined by the world championship showdown between Brooklyn hero and WBA Welterweight World Champion Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi and current WBC Lightweight and Two-Time World Champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner, live on SHOWTIME® at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT

Also featured on the undercard will be Browne's Olympic teammates Rau'Shee Warren and Jamel Herring, undefeated prospect Robert Easter Jr. and Brooklyn's Juan Dominguez and Frank Galarza.

Julian Williams (12-0-1, 7 KO's) has shown the talent and savvy of those with much more experience. In just 13 professional bouts, the 23-year-old has proven that he is on his way to joining the long line of Philadelphia fighters to win a world title. He will face by far his toughest challenge to date when he faces former World Champion Alcine on June 22.

Gonaive, Haiti native Alcine (33-4-1, 19 KO's) is unlike any fighter Williams has seen in his professional his career. The former WBA Super Welterweight World Champion who now resides in the boxing hotbed of Montreal holds wins over Travis Simms, Carl Daniels and David Lemieux and is looking to bounce back from a gritty 12-round loss to Brian Rose in April.

Living just over the Verrazano Bridge in Staten Island, New York, "Sir" Marcus Browne (4-0, 4 KO's) will have a short commute to work on June 22. The 2012 United States Olympian has been making short work of his opponents, too, showing off his punching power by finishing all four of his foes by knockout. Obregon, Mexico's Ricardo Campillo (7-6-1, 5 KO's) will be aiming to end that streak and score the upset. Having faced four undefeated opponents in his last four bouts, he's no stranger to taking on up-and-coming prospects.

Three-time United States Olympian Rau'Shee Warren (12-0, 2 KO's) and 2012 United States Olympian Jamel Herring (3-0, 2 KO's) have both compiled impressive pro records and will look to keep the momentum going in their Brooklyn debuts. Cincinnati's Warren meets Pueblo, Colorado's Ernest Marquez (9-12, 3 KO's) in a four/six round bantamweight match which will be included on SHOWTIME EXTREME (time permitting) and Coram, New York's Herring takes on Prichard, Alabama's Calvin Smith (2-3) in a four-round lightweight fight.

Brooklyn will be well represented at Barclays Center on June 22 by undefeated junior featherweight Juan Dominguez (14-0, 10 KO's) who squares off against St. Paul, Minnesota's Bradley Patraw (9-5, 5 KO's) in an eight-round bout. Brooklyn's popular junior middleweight Frank Galarza (9-0-2, 5 KO's) will also look to once again wow the hometown fans when he takes on Arecibo, Puerto Rico's Edgar Perez (5-5, 3 KO's) in a six-round junior middleweight fight.

A lightweight bout scheduled for six rounds completes the card, as Toledo, Ohio's Robert Easter Jr. (4-0, 4 KO's) searches for his fifth pro win against Merrillville, Indiana's Antoine Knight (2-3, 1 KO).

Manny Pacquiao will no longer fight in the U.S. said Bob Arum

Manny Pacquiao

Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao's promoter, said Manny will no longer fight in the US because of tax.

"By fighting outside the country, as he’s doing in this Rios fight, Manny doesn’t have to pay U.S. taxes anymore – at a rate of 40% for a foreign athlete," Arum said. "If this pay-per-view and other things take off like we think they may, I can’t imagine Pacquiao will ever again fight in the U.S.”

Pacquiao will be fighting Brandon Rios in Macau, China on Nov. 23. The fight will take place in the morning in Macau, China that means it will be shown in the US on Saturday night.

Chinese consumers will also be able to buy the fight for just $5, adding to the money from pay-per-views in America and elsewhere. Arum said they could generate $10-$20 million in sales for this event.
