Ronda Rousey Laugh at Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto PPV flop

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto was a huge Pay-per-view flop. Showtime cable network said that the Floyd Mayweather’s last fight against Andre Berto, has churn out not more than 400,000. This placed Floyd's last fight at the same numbers as Manny Pacquiao versus Chris Algieri, which Floyd mocked Pacquiao. Floyd needs Pacquiao to get big numbers like the 4.4million for their last fight aht gave the fighters $260m for Mayweather and $120m for Pacquiao in their so-called Fight of the Century.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey mocked Floyd for the poor PPV numbers, saying that fans were already disappointed with Mayweather's May 2 fight against Pacquiao and that boxing fans were not that dumb to watch a one-sided fight.

Rousey told TMZ, "I'm not surprised, a lot of people were pissed after that Pacquiao fight. Fans aren't dumb." Watch the TMZ video clip here.


Rousey and Mayweather have been going at each other recently with Floyd saying that Rousey and the UFC are simply looking for publicity. Rousey will have a fight this coming November against challenger Holly Holm in Australia for UFC 193.

Mayweather Defeated Berto for his retirement fight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has done what he is suppose and designed to do win against a dummy fighter which in this case Andre Berto to retire unbeaten. The fight was a welterweight championship bout between boxers Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) and Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs).

Mayweather 38, has recently won a boring fight against Manny Pacquaio which disappointed many boxing fans. Mayweather insisted that the Berton fight will be his last fight of his storied career. With the win against Berto he tied Rocky Marciano’s record of 49-0. Rocky Marciano was the last American champion to retire undefeated.

Floyd outboxed and outpointed his Berto in the 12 rounds fight to hold on his WBC and WBA welterweight titles. Berto which is a 30-1 underdog against one of the best defensive fighters of all time, dropped to 30-4 as he suffered his 4th loss in his last seven fights.

Other modern boxers who retired undefeated are Joe Calzaghe 46-0, Sven Otke, 34-0 Edwin Valero 27-0, Ricardo Lopez 51-0-1.

Julio Cesar Chavez was 89-0-1 before losing — From 1943-1951 Sugar Ray Robinson won 91 fights in a row.

In the undercard of the fight Jonathan Oquendo upset Jhonny Gonzalez. This was to be a tune up fight for titleholder Jhonny Gonzalez but Jonathan Oquendo of Puerto Rico has another thing in mind as he scored an upset by winning a majority decision  of 94-94, 95-93, and 98-90.

Gonzalez (58-10, 49 KO) dropped Oquendo (26-4, 16 KO) in the first round and the fight looked as Gonzalez would have an easy time through out even if Oquendo give him a fight. But Oquendo stormed back in round two, dropping Gonzalez hard and evening the score. Gonzalez survived that round, and seemed to come on strong down the stretch in the fight, which featured several accidental head clashes and blood from the faces of both men.
